January 1, 1925 – April 23, 2018
Bella “Belle” Robinson-Tarlow, 93, of Swampscott, formerly of Marblehead, entered into rest on Monday, April 23, 2018. Belle was born in Boston, a daughter of the late Samuel and Celia (Spigelman) Katz. She was married to the late Samuel D. Robinson, with whom she shared 57 years of marriage until his passing in 2004. She later married Lawrence E. Tarlow.
Belle grew up in Lynn, graduated from Lynn English High School, and later went on to secretarial school. She made her home in Marblehead, where she raised her two children. Belle worked for many years – first, side by side with her husband Samuel, where he ran a meat market in Lynn. Then, when her children were in high school, she worked at Jordan Marsh in Boston and Braintree, as Manager of the Fine Jewelry and Diamond Department. She later worked at both Ross Jewelers and Long’s Jewelers.
She married Larry Tarlow several years after her first husband passed, and shared a short time with him until his passing. Belle was also devoted to Bob Davis, with whom she shared many wonderful years of friendship and travel.
Left to cherish her memory are her devoted daughter Leslie Freedman and her husband, Dr. Harold Freedman of Swampscott, her son Marc Robinson and his wife Merri of Raleigh, NC; cherished grandchildren Jill Schwartz and her husband Jeffrey, Evan Freedman and his wife Channy, Jessica Gorelick and her husband Evan; and beloved great-grandchildren, Abigail Schwartz, Talia Schwartz, Caden Burger, Zella Burger, Noah Gorelick, and Alex Freedman. She was predeceased by her brother, George Kates and sister, Celia Unik.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday at 11:00am at Pride of Lynn Cemetery, 89 Lake Shore Road, Lynn, MA.
Shiva will be observed on Thursday, April 26, beginning at 6:30pm; and on Friday, April 27, from 1 to 5pm, at the home of Leslie and Harold Freedman.
