Born in Attleboro, Massachusetts on February 5, 1938, Charline grew up in Brookline and graduated from Brookline High School before earning her Bachelors of Science degree at Simmons College in 1959, and married her beloved, Arnold Levin, later that year. Arnie and Charline were married 54 years. He preceded her in death.
Charline and Arnie were among the first members of Temple Beth Shalom, now Temple Tiferet Shalom, in Peabody, Massachusetts, where she was a longtime member of the Sisterhood.
She worked as a bacteriologist and spent most of her adult life in the suburbs of Boston, Massachusetts. She later moved full-time to Boynton Beach, Florida.
She loved golf, tennis, reading, live theater, and movies. She was an avid bridge player and treasured her time with her girlfriends.
She is survived by her children, Bruce Levin (Lek), Robert Levin (Lisa), and Karen Powder (Scott); her grandchildren, Andrew Levin (Caroline), Jason Levin, Madelyn Powder, Jocelyn Powder, Harry Levin, Madeleine Jaffe, Andrew Jaffe (Kaleigh), and Maxwell Jaffe; her great-grandchild, Paige Levin; and her brother, Herb Tarutz (Arleen).
A service will be held Monday September 28 at 11:00 AM at Temple Tiferet Shalom, 489 Lowell Street, Peabody, Massachusetts. A gathering will also be held on Wednesday, September 30, from 4:00 to 9:00 PM at 2305 Forestview Road, Evanston, Illinois.
