

Born in Dorchester, Cheryl was the daughter of the late Harold and Edith (Bell) Dorfman and Edward Shatz. She attended Dorchester Schools and was a graduate of Jeremiah E. Burke High School Class of 1962.
Active in her community, Cheryl was a longtime volunteer at the Peabody Council on Aging and the Haven From Hunger.
She enjoyed yard sales and flea markets, musicals and concerts. Above all, she was a proud grandmother and took an active role in her grandchildren’s lives.
She leaves her children, Lauren Cerullo and her husband Anthony of Woburn and Eric Sher of Salem. She was the cherished grandmother to Michael and Matthew Cerullo. Loving sister to Sandra Katz of FL. Cheryl also leaves her dear friend who she thought of as a sister, Antoinette “Toni” Dunn. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family would like to thank all of the staff at Massachusetts General Hospital for the loving care and kindness that Cheryl received.
Services at the Stanetsky-Hymanson Memorial Chapel, 10 Vinnin St. SALEM on Wednesday at 11:00AM. Interment following at Chebra Kadisha of Chelsea Cemetery, Woburn. Memorial Observance following the interment at the home of Lauren and Anthony Cerullo until 7:30PM and on Thursday from 5-8PM. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Cheryl’s memory may be sent to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, PO Box 4072, Pittsfield, MA 01202.
