David S. Levine, age 94, died on Tuesday in his home in Marblehead. Born in Chelsea, he had resided in Marblehead since 1954. He graduated from Chelsea High School and was a member of their first Track and Field Team participating in the hurdles and poll vault. He was a World War II Army/Air Force veteran serving with the military police as a Sergeant. He was an avid sports fan, bowling in the Edison League and as a golfer belonging to the Thompson and Hillview Country Clubs in Reading. He was a former member Temple Israel in Swampscott.
Survived by his beloved wife Helen L. Levine. Dear son of the late Morris and Ida Levine. Devoted father of Mitchell and his wife Mary Levine of Marblehead, and Andrew and his wife Christina Levine of Beverly. Cherished grandfather of Maggie Slavet, Robert, Trevor, Brian Levine and great-grandfather of Stephen and Eden Slavet, Violet and Zoe Belle Levine. Loving brother of Charles P. and his wife Faylyn Levine of Swampscott, Evelyn Harmon of Danvers and the late Edward Levine. Services at the Stanetsky-Hymanson Memorial Chapel, 10 Vinnin St., Salem-Swampscott line on Thursday, Aug. 22 at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow in the Cong. Shirat Hayam Cemetery, Temple Israel Section, Lowell St., Peabody. Memorial Observance following the interment only at the home of Mitchell and Mary Levine.
