Dr. David S. Samost

Beloved husband of the late Anna Samost with whom he shared 51 years of marriage, and dear son of the late Haskell and Anna Samost. Devoted father of Marla Samost and her husband Simon, Scott Samost and his late wife Carol, Randy Samost and his wife Mary, and Todd Samost and his late wife Karen. Cherished grandfather of Aubrey and her husband Christopher, Tyler, Jared and his wife Katie, Matthew and his wife Nicole, Daniel and his wife Khairee, Andrew, Naomi, and Jacob. Adored great-grandfather of Abigail, Eleanor, and Elijah. Loving brother of the late Joseph Samost, Claire Sheinman, and Goldie Schultz, and a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews.

David made his home in Revere, where he and Anna raised their family and created a lifetime of precious memories. Together, David and Anna traveled extensively throughout Italy and shared a particular appreciation for Florence. David was devoted to his family and treasured the time he spent surrounded by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and friends.

Raised in Philadelphia, he received his undergraduate & dental degrees from Temple University. He served as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force prior to settling down and starting a family. David opened his dental office in Lynn, MA, where he practiced for 55 years. He enjoyed carpentry, gardening, wine-making, & jazz music. David was actively involved in the Jewish community, belonging to Temple Sinai for over 50 years and serving on the board of Hillel.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 13th at 11:00AM, at Stanetsky- Hymanson Memorial Chapel, 10 Vinnin Street, Salem, MA 01970, with interment to follow at Temple Sinai Memorial Park, 49 Buxton Road, Danvers, MA 01923.

Shiva will be held at his prior residence, 120 Lynnway, Revere, MA 02151 on Monday 7/13 from 3:00-6:30PM, and Tuesday 7/14 from 2:00-5:30PM.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in David’s memory to the World Health Dental Organization, or to a charity of one’s choice.
