Earl M. Garber of Peabody, MA, entered into rest on August 7, 2023, at the age of 92. Beloved husband of Sylvia (Adelson). They recently celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary. Devoted father of Jeffrey Garber and his wife Joan of Middleton, MA, and the late Ellen Garber and her husband Chip Hedler. Cherished grandfather of Ashley Garber of Middleton, MA. Brother of Philip Garber of Brighton, MA and the late Paul Garber. Dear son of the late Rubin and Sarah (Shick) Garber.
He was born in Watertown, MA where he lived on a dairy farm ran by his grandmother. Moving to Brighton, MA in the fifth grade, he later graduated from Boston English High school followed by college at The University of Missouri where he earned his BA. He went on to proudly serve in the U.S Army and was stationed in Korea.
Prior to his retirement, he was a distribution manager for Allied Signal Corporation in Providence, RI. He was a dedicated member of the Explorers Lifelong Learning Institute, affiliated with Salem University, where he facilitated classes.
He loved the game of golf, which he learned upon his retirement, and played frequently up until this past spring. He cherished his time spent with family, friends, and was an avid sports fan, in particular, enjoying watching and cheering for the Red Sox and Celtics
A funeral service for Earl will be held on Friday, August 11, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Temple Tiferet Shalom, 489 Lowell Street, Peabody, MA with interment at Temple Beth Shalom Cemetery, 16 Buxton Road, Danvers, MA 01923.
