Esther Esses

ESSES, Esther (Galvin)- of Marblehead, formerly of Salem, entered into rest on August 31, 2016 at the age of 102. Beloved wife of the late Isaac “Buddy” Esses, with whom she shared 61 years of marriage. Devoted mother of Colonel David Esses USAF (ret) and the late Sherri Sorofman. Loving mother in law of the late Ellen Esses. Beloved sister of the late Ceil Glazer, Leon Galvin and Solon Galvin. Cherished grandmother of Peter Sorofman and his wife Jennifer Dorsey and son Noah Dorsey-Sorofman, Jason Sorofman and his wife Jodi and daughters Hannah and Marin and Lt. Col. Greg Esses USAF (ret) and his wife Dr. Jennifer Esses and their two sons Cameron and Benjamin. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Esther was an active member of Temple Shalom in Salem and the JCC in Marblehead. For years she was a familiar face working with her husband at Buddy's on Essex St in Salem. She was famous for her brownies and chocolate chip cookies; all looked forward to a treat from Esther. She was a beautiful wife, wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be missed. Funeral services will be held at Stanetsky-Hymanson Memorial Chapel- 10 Vinnin St., Salem, MA on Sunday, September 4, 2016 at 11:00AM. Interment will be held at the Sons of Jacob Cemetery in Danvers. In lieu of flowers, donations in Esther’s name may be made to a children’s charity of one’s choice.
