Florence A. Shecter

Florence A. (Fain) Shecter – of Peabody, formerly of Dover, NH, entered into rest on Sunday, July 20, 2025 at the age of 92. Beloved wife of the late Philip Shecter. Devoted mother of Karen Shecter and her partner David Wilson of Newton and Jim Shecter and his wife Melissa of SC. Florence was also survived by many dear friends.

Born in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late Isaac and Ruth E. (Sampson) Fain. Florence grew up in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School. She had been employed for many years as a social worker for the Department of Employment for the State of New Hampshire until her retirement.

Florence will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her. She was very thoughtful and enjoyed caring for others. Florence always made sure everyone was included, and she could often be found cooking meals for others who needed them.

A graveside service will be held on at New Tifereth Israel of Everett Cemetery, 232 Fuller Street, Everett on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at 12 Noon.
