

Frances “Honey” (Fine) Freedson, 94, passed away in Montgomery, New Jersey on Sunday, April 1, 2012. Mrs. Freedson was the wife of the late Eli Freedson, the owner of Carr Leather Co. in Lynn, Ma, and shared 64 years of marriage with him. Mrs. Freedson was born in Chelsea, MA to the late Rebecca (Krotky) and Barnett Fine. Prior to settling in Marblehead, Mr. and Mrs. Freedson lived in Reading, PA. Mrs. Freedson lived in Marblehead from 1956 until 2005, when she moved to New Jersey to be near to her daughter Bonnie. She was a devoted wife to Eli (“Red”), and loving mother to late son Donald Freedson; daughter Bonnie Waltz; daughter-in-law Deborah Crosby; daughter-in-law Bette Jonas Freedson and late son-in-law David Waltz. She was predeceased by four siblings, Bess Goloboy; Debra Rosenblatt; Saul Fine; and Leonard Fine; and several brothers and sisters-in-law. She is survived by her loving sister Molly Klein of Boynton Beach, FL.; her beloved grandchildren, Laura Gainsboro (Keith); Vanessa Waltz; Julia Freedson (Arturo); Jeremy Waltz (Kathy); Scott Freedson; and Chris Crosby. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren, Ella, Hannah, Tess, Tovah and Ian, as well as several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Freedson was a member of Temple Israel, Swampscott, and Kernwood Country Club, Salem. A funeral service will be held by the Stanetsky Memorial Chapels at Temple Israel Cemetery, 506 Lowell St., Peabody, MA on Thursday, April 5, at 1pm. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be held immediately following at the home of Deborah Crosby, 12 Everett Paine Blvd., Marblehead, from 3-9pm.
