

Frances Lee Shuster (Goldberg) of Salem, MA, formerly of Swampscott and New Bedford, died unexpectedly on May 23, 2017 at the age of 85. She was the devoted wife of the late Harvey I. Shuster of New Bedford and the cherished mother of Michelle Shuster and her partner Jeffrey DeVoyd of Haverhill, and Gary Shuster and his partner Wendy Martin of Medford. She was the beloved daughter of the late David and Shirley Goldberg, loving sister of Martin and Rosalind Goldberg of Salem, and Herbert Goldberg and the late Janet Goldberg of Marblehead. Frances was also the loving Aunt and Great Aunt to the Davis, W. Goldberg, Gladstone and A. Goldberg families.
Frances was a 1948 graduate of Swampscott High School and had the distinction of being in the first graduating class of Brandeis University, Class of 1952. She married Harvey that same year and moved to New Bedford where they raised their two children. She loved living in New Bedford, where she enjoyed visiting with family and friends and taking long walks in Buttonwood Park with her dog Princess.
Funeral services will be on Sunday, May 28, at noon, held at Stanetsky-Hymanson Memorial Chapel, 10 Vinnin St., Salem, MA, followed by interment at 3PM at Plainville Cemetery- Tifereth Israel, 1400 Old Plainville Road, New Bedford, MA.
Memorial observance will be held on Monday, May 29 between 2pm and 6pm, at the Village at Vinnin Square Clubhouse, Loring Hills Ave., Salem, MA.
