George Goldberg of Beverly and Lake Worth, FL, passed away on July 28, 2013 at the age of 95. Loving husband of the late Mildred (Smith) Goldberg. Dear companion to Jean Drummer for over 14 years. Devoted father of Philip Goldberg and his wife Elaine of Wenham and the late Roberta Ackerman and Donna Gold-Gulko. Loving brother of the late Norman Goldberg, Mary Grob, Ann Cutler, Helen Furash, Dr. William Golberg and Dr. Irving Gilbert. Cherished grandfather of Ross Goldberg and his wife Diane of Lynnfield, Corrie, Dana and Jessica Goldberg. He was born in Chelsea, son of the late Phillip and Esther (Kabacow) Goldberg. A lifelong resident of Beverly. George owned and operated Trendware of Danvers formerly known as G. Goldberg, Inc of Salem. He sold hardware and miscellaneous products to the footwear industries until his retirement in 1990. Mr. Goldberg served his country in the United States Air Force during WWII. He was a member of the VFW in Beverly, Jewish War Veterans, and the Blue Mountain Masonic Lodge in Phillips, ME. Services at will be held on Tuesday, July 30th, 2013 at 1pm at Temple B’nai Abraham, 200 E. Lothrop St, Beverly. Interment at Sons of Abraham, Beverly. Memorial observance will be held at the home of Philip and Elaine Goldberg immediately following interment, Wednesday and Thursday from 2pm-4pm & 7pm-9pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his memory may be made to the Donna Gold-Gulko Brain Tumor Research Fund, Mass General Hospital-Development Office, 165 Cambridge St, Suite 600, Boston, MA 02114.
