Peter Shostak entered into rest on May 19, 2020, at the age of 77. Beloved husband of Myra (z”l). Devoted father of Sara and Eli, and their spouses, Matt and Erin. Cherished grandfather of Delia. The loving brother of Arthur and Stanley. Proud uncle of Scott, Mark, Daniel, Russell, Mari and Serena. Dear son of the late Milton and Bessie Shostak (z”l).

He grew up in Brooklyn, graduated from NYU, and completed his Master in Health Administration at the University of Minnesota. He took precious care of his family, working tirelessly to make sure they would have everything they needed to flourish. He was committed to excellence in all that he did, and was a leader in hospital administration. He loved fishing, gardening, and cooking. He was a strong and beautiful person, whom we will dearly miss and forever remember.

Funeral services are private due to regulations imposed by the Coronavirus pandemic.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to Brandeis Hillel, to support Shabbat celebrations, at URL: http://giving.brandeis.edu/hillel

Peter and I have been friends for a long time. My first meeting with him was when we were both considerably younger. With my mom I went to the Neighborhood Grocery at 2926 Pitkin Ave, Brooklyn.
My mom was shopping and Milton said "stop that Peter"
Mom asked if Milton were yelling at her son. He said no, my son.
At the time one could barely see Peter's head bobbing just above the counter.
We fished together. Shared many emails. I visited Peter and Myra once at their apartment in Howard Beach and once in Ft. Collins.
Peter was a good friend who loved his family very much.
A quote from one of his emails is: "Man plans, God Laughs"

Peter, safe trip Heavenward. See ya later.
