Herbert A. Miller

Herbert A. Miller, son of Jennie and Louis Miller entered into eternal rest on October 12th, 2025 after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease.

Herb was the beloved husband of Nancy Rosenfeld Miller with whom he shared 62 years of marriage. He was the devoted father of Jeffrey Miller and his wife Crystal and Randy Miller and his wife Shana. He is also survived by his loving grandsons, Zachary and Brayden Miller.

His brother Kenneth Miller, and sisters Frances Brody and Nannette Shible predeceased Herb.

Herb also leaves many sister in laws, nieces and nephews.

Herbert was the proprietor of the Newburyport General Store for all of his working life. It was where he spent 6 days a week selling everything you could want or need. When the store closed for retirement, the community yearned for its return.

But the true love of his life was his family and spending time with them.

The family is very grateful to his wonderful personal aide Joe Karama who provided many years of excellent care. Others who deserve recognition include Tyrant and Amworry as well as Care Dimensions for their kindness and help.

Herbert’s funeral service will be at Congregation Shirat Hayam, 55 Atlantic Ave, Swampscott on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at 11 AM. Interment to follow at Shirat Hayam Cemetery, 506 Lowell Street, Peabody.

Memorial Observance immediately following interment on Wed. until 7 pm at the Clubhouse at the Village at Vinnin Square and Thursday from 3:30 – 7 pm.
