Janice, a retired elementary school teacher, felt her greatest accomplishments were her marriage of 51+ years to her devoted husband Bruce and the beautiful family they built together, comprised of Jennifer and her husband Wayne Chase of Merrimack, NH and their children Emma and Aaron; Lauren Chase of Boston, MA; and Alex Chase and his wife Gabrielle of Stamford, CT and their daughters Ilana and Aviva.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Irene “Reenie” (Sherman) and Samuel Cohen, and Bruce’s parents, Sylvia (Novack) and Martin Chase. She is survived by her sister Paula (Cohen) and her husband Michael Braverman and her sister-in-law Fredda (Chase) Rance.
A memorial service celebrating Janice’s exceptional life will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Stanetsky-Hymanson Memorial Chapel, 10 Vinnin Street, Salem, MA, followed by a burial at Shirat Hayam – Temple Israel Cemetery, 506 Lowell Street, Peabody, MA.
