Joan was the beloved wife of the late Richard Lisson. She will be deeply missed by her children: Judy Koch (Highlands Ranch, CO), Carolyn Randolph and husband John (Acton, MA), and Bob Lisson and wife Lisa (Knightdale, NC).
Joan was also a cherished grandmother to Lindsay and Katie Koch (Greenwood Village, CO), Doug Randolph (Maynard, MA), Craig and his wife Krista Randolph (Ashland, MA), Stephanie Randolph (Boston, MA), Sarah Waldrupe and husband Aaron (Knoxville, TN), Michael Lisson (Columbus, OH), and her granddogs: Tupper, Scooter, Daphne, and Kevin.
Joan's legacy extends far beyond her family. She was a former kindergarten teacher and volunteer for causes close to her heart, including Alzheimer’s research and the American Red Cross. But all who knew her will fondly remember a magnet for people, relationships and conversation, whether by phone or while holding court at the Muffin Shop and Shubie’s. Into her final days, Joan found joy in giving to others, and the family has received countless comments from friends and caregivers about how she touched and encouraged them even while her health declined.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 31, at the Congregation Shirat Hayam Cemetery (Temple Beth-El section), 506 Lowell St. in Peabody. Following the service, a drop-in reception will be held from 12:30pm-3:30pm at the Village at Vinnin Square clubhouse, 200 Loring Hills Ave. in Salem. [Note: Loring Hills Ave. is a short road that begins at Loring Ave. in Vinnin Square. Loring Hills Ave. becomes Freedom Hollow; continue uphill, following signs to the Recreation Facility. The clubhouse is adjacent to the pool and tennis court.]
