Judith A. Marder (“Judy”), of Lynn, entered into rest on October 26, 2026, at the age of 80. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert L. Marder, Esq.; cherished aunt of Dana G. Marder and his partner, Leslie Silveria, of Somerset; Bonnie and her husband, Kenneth Unger, of Marina Del Ray, CA; and Nancy A. Marder and Vincent Ditello of Mansfield; devoted great-aunt of Jilaine and Julio Morales of Easton, Jessica and Ryan Greene of Dighton, Joseph and Jamie Marder of Taunton, Julianne Marder of Mansfield, and Julia Unger and Victoria Unger of Marina Del Ray, CA; dear daughter of the late Herbert and Phyllis Kerr; and loving sister of the late Linda Kerr.
Judy grew up in Swampscott and graduated from Swampscott High School.
As a child, Judy was a gymnast and a cheerleader, a distinction she always remembered with great pride. She and Robert were true soulmates who were born three days apart in the same hospital. Judy and Robert shared a love of travel, enjoying cruises together and exploring new places and cultures. In 2006, they were honored to be asked to christen a new cruise ship, MS Noordam.
Judy had a love for the outdoors, reading, and most of all, puppies. Dogs of all sizes were referred to as puppies. She would sit on her front lawn reading her paper, waiting for the neighborhood puppies to come by. She loved having treats and toys ready to give them and was known as the neighborhood’s “cookie lady”! Many of her closest neighborhood friendships were made through her furry friends.
Judy especially treasured watching her family grow and found great joy in seeing her great-nieces and great-nephew welcome children of their own. She loved celebrating holidays with her family.
Judy took great pride in living in her own home and cherished her neighbors, both human and furry. She will be remembered for her warm, radiant smile that could light up a room and for the lasting impression she made on everyone who was fortunate enough to know and love her.
The family of Judy Marder wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the Life Care Center of the North Shore in Lynn and the staff of Crossway in North Andover for the love, care, and support they provided to Judy and her family.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, November 1, 2026, at 11 AM at Shirat Hayam Cemetery, Temple Israel Section, 506 Lowell Street, Peabody.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Judy’s name may be made to the MSPCA at Northeast Animal Shelter, 347 Highland Ave, Salem, MA 01970.
