Keith L. Silver – of Salem, MA, Formerly of Athens, Greece. Entered into rest on Nov 29, 2021, at the age of 52. Beloved husband of Margarita. Devoted father of Eliana. The loving brother Janet Stevenson and Gregg Silver. Dear son of (the late) Myra Silver and late Gerald Silver.
He grew up in Chelmsford, MA, graduated from Chelmsford High School, and raised his family around the world as a Foreign Service Officer with the US Department of Commerce. He graduated with a Bachelors of Arts degree from the New England College and a Masters of Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School at Tufts University.
Silver enjoyed the adventures and challenges of the Foreign Service life and career. From hosting President Obama in Spain and representing the United States at the week-long Thessaloniki International Fair for which he and his staff received the International Trade Administration’s distinguished Bronze Award, to bringing numerous international investors to the United States and creating countless American jobs, Silver was a valued member of the Foreign Service family and a well-respected leader. In addition to tours in Greece and Spain, Keith and his family also served in Miami, FL; St Petersburg, Russia; and Buenos Aires, Argentina. Keith also lived and worked in Uzbekistan and served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Panama.
He loved to travel and has visited over 40 countries with his wife and daughter.
He cherished his time spent with family, friends, and respected colleagues & clients.
Shiva will be held at the home of his sister Janet following services until sundown.
