Lita (Rodman) Gouchberg, 99, of Swampscott, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2026 surrounded by her adoring family. Beloved wife of Gerald Gouchberg (of blessed memory), with whom she spent 64 years of marriage. Devoted daughter of the late William and Pearl (Golumb) Rodman. Cherished mother of David Gouchberg and his wife Karen of Mendon, VT, Jeffrey Gouchberg and longtime partner Fiona Maguire of Delray Beach, FL and Susan Rudolph and her husband James of Marblehead. Cherished grandmother of Jason Gouchberg, Matt Gouchberg and his wife Daniele, Tayler Gouchberg, Billy Rudolph and his wife Sari, Bobby Rudolph and his wife Amanda, and Katie Rudolph. Cherished great grandmother of Jackson, Hadley, Ella and Chase Rudolph and Danny, Julianna and Ben Gouchberg. Loving sister of Marcia Corwin (of blessed memory).
She was a loving and devoted woman whose greatest joy in life was the people around her. She was always there for everyone—ready with a helping hand, a listening ear, or simply a place to feel welcome and loved.
Family and friends meant everything to her, and her home was always open. It was a place where children and friends were welcomed, memories were made, and everyone could feel at home. Her warmth, generosity, and unconditional love created a home filled with laughter, comfort, and togetherness.
Of all the roles she held throughout her life, the ones she cherished most were those of mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was her greatest pride and joy, and she treasured every moment spent with them. She gave her love freely and unconditionally, leaving each generation with memories and lessons that will be carried on.
Her presence brought comfort and love to so many, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her greatest legacy will be the love she gave to her family and friends and the many lives she touched simply by always being there.
A private graveside was held for Lita at Temple Emanu-El of Marblehead Memorial Park.
