
Maralyn Keay, age 80 of Marblehead, died on Tuesday in the Kaplan Family Hospice in Danvers. Born in Fremont, OH she had lived in Marblehead for some 50 years. She was a graduate of Simons College. Mrs. Keay was a former librarian at Salem State University and most recently at the Swampscott Public Library. She previously was a librarian in Peabody and Revere. She was active with the Salem Explorers Club at Salem State University. She enjoyed playing cards and was a live long dog lover.
She was the beloved mother of H. Lewis and his wife Linda Zion of GA, David Zion of Marblehead and her late daughter Beth Zion. She was the cherished grandmother of Sara, Lauren, Diana, Morgan, Michael, Mark, and Julianne. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, Sept. 15 at 11:00 AM in the Stanetsky-Hymanson Memorial Chapel, 10 Vinnin St., Salem-Swampscott Line. Memorial Observance will be held immediately after the Memorial Service at the home of David Zion. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in her memory may be donated to the Beth Zion Scholorship Fund, c/o Montserrat College of Art, 23 Essex St., Beverly, MA 01915.
