Marc Edward Swartz

Marc E. Swartz– of Peabody, formerly of Dorchester, entered into rest on Saturday morning, June 20, 2026, at the age of 78. Beloved husband of the late Lauren (Barkin) Swartz. Devoted father of Jonathan Swartz of Peabody. Loving brother of Steven Swartz and his wife Rhonda of Brockton. Dear son of the late Benjamin and Evelyn (Goldberg) Swartz. Fun loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Marc grew up in Dorchester, MA and graduated from Dorchester High School. He met the love of his life, Lauren, at Massachusetts Bay Community College. After 9 years of marriage, Marc and Lauren adopted a five-month-old El Salvadorian boy named, Jonathan who they showered with love and affection. Marc worked as a banker for 40 years in downtown Boston, first with Shawmut Bank of Boston, then later with Congress Financial Corp, until retiring with Wells Fargo Advisers in 2012. He was a dedicated accountant for many of his Jewish and Gentile brethren. On the weekends, Marc enjoyed watching sports as well as the 3 stooges. He especially loved spending time with his devoted wife and loving son, every day of his life. He will be deeply missed by all that encountered this wonderful and loving "gentle giant".

Funeral services for Marc will be held at Stanetsky-Hymanson Memorial Chapel, 10 Vinnin Street, SALEM on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at 10:00AM. Burial at Temple Beth Shalom Memorial Park, 49 Buxton Road, Danvers. Memorial observance will be held at the home of Mr. Jonathan Swartz following the interment, as wells as on Monday, June 29, 2026, at the same location. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to one's own family. Please honor Marc by "donating" your time the way he did.......with family, which he believed was the most important part of his life. Take them out for a good meal (maybe a lobster tail) and remember.......we are not promised tomorrow.
