Mike S. Temkin

TEMKIN, Mike S.- of Peabody, 80, passed away at home after a courageous battle with cancer on February 3, 2016. He was well known for his career with MetLife Insurance, which spanned 30 years. He distinguished himself by being inducted into the MetLife Hall of Fame, which represents the company’s highest level of performance. He operated his own “Single-Person Sales Office” in Peabody, an opportunity reserved only for elite MetLife salespeople.

Mike loved to sing and enjoyed attending karaoke events, his signature and favorite song being “My Way”. He loved people and enjoyed entertaining at summer cookouts at his home, which included karaoke outside by the pool.

In addition to his wife Kathleen (James) Temkin, he leaves three children- Alan Temkin & his wife Francine of Beverly, Sherri Temkin of Peabody, and Lisa Temkin & her fiancée Patrick Vasold of MD; three grandchildren- Stefanie Jalbert & her husband Jessie of Beverly, Jennifer Temkin of NY, Brittany Temkin of Revere; two great-grandchildren- Colin Skillins and Harper Rae Jalbert; and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his wife Toby of 46 years.

His funeral will be held on Monday, February 8, 2016 at 10:00AM at Stanetsky-Hymanson Memorial Chapel- 10 Vinnin St., Salem, MA 01970. Interment will follow at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park- 185 Lake St., Peabody, MA 01960. A memorial observance will be held at his late residence on Monday following the interment until 8PM and will continue on Tuesday from 3-7PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to Massachusetts General Hospital North Shore Cancer Center- 102 Endicott St., Danvers, MA 01923 or to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA 01923.
