Born in Frankfurt Germany, he moved to Paris France in 1931 and then escaped the terrors of World War 2 in 1941 by emigrating to the USA. He served in the Army Air Corp from 1945 thru 1947.
He married Estelle Novak in 1950.
He graduated from Columbia University with a masters in library science and went on to be a head librarian in four different states, of which Scotch Plains, New Jersey was the longest in tenure by far.
Surviving are the following: his son Ronald and wife Eleanore of Longmeadow, his granddaughter Deborah, her husband Jay and their 3 children as well as his grandson Dan, his wife Ashley and their 2 children. Also surviving is his son Bruce, wife Jeanne and his grandson Andrew all of Spring Hill Florida.
