

Philip G. Vener– of Swampscott, formerly of Chelsea & Marblehead, entered into rest on Monday morning, June 29, 2026 at the age of 91. Beloved husband of the late Marilyn S. (Yudin) Vener with whom he shared 65 years of marriage prior to her passing. Devoted father of Andrea Katz of Lynn, Jim Vener of Swampscott and Ron Vener and his wife Erica of Marblehead. Cherished grandfather of Olivia, Nicolas and Sophia Vener, Ariel Katz and his wife Eliza, Jonah Katz and Sarah Katz. Adored great grandfather of Shoshana, Ilan and Avital Katz. Loving brother of the late Alton Venner, Norma Brass and Howard Vener. Dear son of the late Louis and Sylvia (Hoffman) Vener.
Philip grew up in Chelsea and graduated from Northeastern University with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. He initially worked as a draftsman, putting his college degree to use, but soon found his true calling in real estate. Over 45 years, Phil owned, managed and developed several multi-families and apartment buildings across the North Shore. He was a dedicated member of Temple Beth El and Temple Shirat Hayam. While he always loved family first, a close second was sailing. He could frequently be found on his sailboat with family and friends in Marblehead Harbor.
A funeral service for Philip will be held at Stanetsky-Hymanson Memorial Chapel, 10 Vinnin Street, Salem, on Monday, July 6, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Congregation Shirat Hayam Cemetery (Beth El Section), Lowell Street, Peabody, MA. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 320 Nevada St., Suite 201, Newton, MA 02460; Congregation Shirat Hayam, 55 Atlantic Avenue, Swampscott, MA 01907; and/or Chabad Lubavitch of the North Shore, 44 Burrill Street, Swampscott, MA 01907.
