Robert J. Shurman

It is with heavy hearts, we announce the loss of Robert "Butchie" Shurman, a beloved father, husband, and friend, who passed away on June 27, 2023. His absence leaves a void in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

For 43 years, he was the cherished husband of Geraldine “Dede” (Driscoll) Shurman. Robert was the loving father of Alison Shurman and her wife Heidi Shurman of Dover, NH, and Mark Shurman and partner Elizabeth Bakinowski of Andover, MA, stepfather to Kim Kramer of Cohasset, MA. He was eagerly awaiting the arrival of his first grandson this September. Robert's lively presence and sense of humor will be deeply missed by his wide circle of friends and all those fortunate enough to have known him. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Mollie Shurman, and his brother Marshall Shurman.

Born in Dorchester, MA, on May 8, 1941, Robert lived a life filled with passion and purpose. He possessed the remarkable ability to strike up conversations with anyone he met, making friends wherever he went. Robert was the first in his family to graduate college, with a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from Lowell Tech. His career in Sales spanned over 50 years, during which he established his own business RJS Reps, he used his gift of gab and charm to excel within his field.

Gravesite services to honor and celebrate Robert's life will be held on Friday, June 30, 2023 at 1:45PM at Sharon Memorial Park, located at 120 Canton St, Sharon, MA.
