Sheila Simons – of Swampscott, entered into rest on Friday, September 8, 2023, at the age of 85. Beloved wife of Alan Simons. Devoted mother of Leslie, husband Chuck Gordon and Karen. Cherished grandmother of Josh and Eric. The loving sister of the late Maxine and Alvin. Dear daughter of the late Aida and Irving Baker.
She grew up in Winthrop, MA, graduated from Winthrop High School, and raised her family in Swampscott, MA. She was a secretary for Rodman Insurance and the office manager for Temple Israel in Swampscott. She was a dedicated member of Temple Sinai in Marblehead and a member of Hadassah. She volunteered for many years at Temple, JCC and Swampscott school events. She loved everything pink and sparkling. Sheila was a voracious reader who loved chocolate but most important to her was her family and to have family dinners.
A funeral service for Sheila will be held on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Stanetsky-Hymanson Memorial Chapel, 10 Vinnin Street, Salem. With interment at Temple Sinai Cemetery, 16 Buxton Road, Danvers.
Shiva will be held at the home of Alan and Sheila, from 4:00 to 7:00PM. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to Multiple Myeloma Mass General Development Office, 125 Nashua St, Boston, MA 02114.
