I have a picture that Mrs. Coty did. I believe that it might be an oil painting. It is of a Rabbi who appears to be praying while wearing his Jewish prayer garb. It is one of my favorite pictures and I look at it often. I find new perspectives on it every day as I take long and short glances of it. I would love to know more about it, and possibly, hopefully, show it to one of Sophina's family members. The history on it would be very interesting for me to know about. My name is Ben. My sincere condolences. My email is

Our Aunt Sophina was a kind and warm hearted lady and I always enjoyed visiting her either at home or at her Rockport Gallery.
We had some wonderful discussions about the family and our lives.
I also loved her paintings and have some hanging on the walls of my home.
Aunt Sophina is the last of six in the Cohen Clan, she will be dearly missed by all her Family. Malcolm A. Cohen

Sophina was one of my best friends. The gap in generation did not disturb her, but rather her temperament bridged the gap. We spent hours at Friendly's, eating tuna melts and sundaes, dined and saw many shows at the North Shore Theater, rejoiced in "Hair" and loved "South Pacific". We traveled "Home Goods", walked the Rockport Art Association and the Turner Galleries. She loved to sit with her feet up on my dashboard, refusing to put her seatbelt on it. "I hate it", she would say and I would giggle. She carefully watched me draw with charcoal and gave me pointers as we sat next to each other on the brown leather couch in my livingroom. She called out to my long haired white cat, PeeBee and always said, "if you have an animal, you take care of it." She clapped when I played the piano and sang for her. On a cold winter's night she called me every half hour through a herendous storm with no power in her Pigeon Cove refuge. I cared for her like she was my very own family. And she spoke to me as if I was one of hers. She was very lucky to have had Lucinda at her side who gave her care that was beyond belief and a son who committed himself to ensuring that her final years were spent among the things that she loved the most. She leaves a daughter of whom she always proudly spoke. I thank you and Philippe for the opportunity to share important birthday moments with her. I wish you all my deepest sympathy over your loss. Sophina, you will forever be in my heart and I will treasure all that you gave me and the time that we shared.
