Warren Lackstrom

Warren C. Lackstrom of Swampscott passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 11, 2023, at the age of 83. Warren was born on December 30, 1939, to Eric and Alma Lackstrom. He grew up in East Longmeadow, MA, graduated from Upsala College in1962, and served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy from 1962-1965. He subsequently earned an MBA from Boston University and went on to forge his reputation in the health care management and pharmaceutical sectors. He served as vice president for business development and director of new product planning for Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Inc., of Ingelheim, Germany, and as a vice president of Kendall Strategies, a health care management consulting firm in Cambridge, MA. He also held senior positions at Yale University School of Medicine and University of New Hampshire. Post-retirement he served on the faculty of Quincy College, teaching business and management courses. Warren had a brilliant mind and loved to talk about economics and politics. He traveled around the world and worked with people from many different places and cultures.

In addition to his wife Dr. Irma Zarinsky, Warren is survived by his sister Sandra Barbeau; his children Carl Lackstrom and Kirsten Lackstrom (Randy Westerkam) with former wife Ruth Lackstrom; Irma’s children Sue (Eliot) Sussman and Larry (Mary Beth) Zarinsky; and his and Irma’s grandchildren Aidan Lackstrom, Andrew Lackstrom, Annika Lackstrom, Adam (Kelly) Sussman, Mara Sussman, Henrik Westerkam, Linnea Westerkam, Max Westerkam, AJ Zarinsky, Katie Zarinsky, and Samantha Zarinsky.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, January 16, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Temple Emanuel Cemetary, 16 Buxton Rd., Danvers, MA 01923.

Shiva will be held from 2:30 to 8:00 PM at his residence.
