Ann was born on May 11, 1948 in Burbank, California to Dorothy and William Ankrum and grew up in North Hollywood. She enjoyed an idyllic childhood filled with family gatherings, camping with her dad, and road trips with her nana. She graduated from Grant High School and worked alongside her mother at American Linen Company.
Ann married Bob Hoffman in 1978 and they had two daughters together, Jessica and Rebecca.
Ann later enjoyed a career helping at-risk youth and their families at Oak Grove Center in Murrieta, California and will be remembered for the profound impact she made on the hearts of many. Her compassion, humor, and quick wit carried so many through their toughest times.
Outside of work, Ann loved being “Nana” to her four grandchildren; Caden Hoffman, Milo Green, Mircea Hoffman, and Adrian Robert Green. Ann always said the thing she wanted to be most in the world was a mother. She was survived by her two loving daughters, Jessica Green and Becca Kassner.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and William Ankrum, and her brother Craig Ankrum.
A private service will be held in Salem at a later date. An online tribute will be set up and communicated shortly.
Ann was a lifelong donor and supporter of St Jude Children's research hospital. Anyone inclined to do so can continue to contribute to St Jude in Ann's memory.
Ann will be remembered for her compassion, love of her family, humor, quick wit, and service to her community. She will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
We love you, Nana.
