Some of his favorite things were hunting, fishing, trying to convince people that Bigfoot was real and aliens too, talking to everyone he came in contact with - he made friends everywhere he went (he was quite the social butterfly). He enjoyed time with his family and friends and especially his dogs. He had a sense of humor like no other with the exception of all those dad jokes!
Cody was born to Charles and Electa Germond in Stayton, OR and grew up in their family home in Shaw. He graduated from Cascade High School in 1987 and joined the Army in May of 1990. He received Achievement Awards for his service as a Tactical Wire Operations Specialist. He left the Army in 1994 and settled in Mississippi until returning home to Shaw in 2005.
Cody met Jody (Forbes) in 2006 through mutual friends. It was an instant connection and they quickly married that same year. It was his smile and that crazy sense of humor that made Jody instantly adore him. They settled in his lifelong family home where he lived until he took his last breath.
Cody worked in HVAC for most of his grown up years until he retired. For the past 5 years he worked for Cascade High School as a Night Watchman and most recently started working Armed Security for RAMS Security in addition to his job at the school. He loved staying busy.
Cody was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Christy. He leaves behind his wife Jody, his son Barrett (Leslie) of Mississippi, daughter Adrianna and son Aydan of Shaw, his brother Craig (Diane) of Wyoming as well as the family dogs Roxy and Trigger.
Services will be Saturday, July 6th at 11am at St Mary’s Catholic Church in Shaw with lunch following.
