He was born in Madrid, Nebraska, to Herman and Evelyn Boese on June 3, 1939. Dale moved to the Salem area when he was 6 years old. Dale graduated from South Salem High School in 1957.
He was married to Eleanor Boese (Nazarenus) on October 17, 1959. They would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary this year. They enjoyed traveling the world visiting family in South Korea, Japan, South Africa, Hawaii and Turkey. They traveled to many other countries including Australia, New Zealand, Europe, and China.
Dale was a building contractor for all of his adult life. You can't drive through Salem without seeing many of the custom homes, restaurants, office buildings, and doctors' offices he built. These include the Willamette Valley Eye Center, Chelsea's restaurants and many other recognizable buildings. Dale retired in 2023.
He was a member of Kingwood Bible Church and had a passion for serving the Lord and others. Dale also served for more than 30 years on the Fresno Pacific University Board of Trustees and Pacific District Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches Board of Trustees.
He is survived by his children Todd Boese and Lori Chambers (David); grandchildren Col. Todd Boese II (Sehyun), Katie Homan (Brandon), Kira Matson (Robby), CPO Douglas Siemens (Kirby), Jeffrey Siemens (Courtney) and Andrew Siemens M.D. (Kyla); 10 great-children: Evelyn, Hudson, Merci, Taylor, James, Beau, Max, Aaron, Maeve and Clara; brother Max Boese, sisters Sheryl Steinke (Clayton) and Bonnie Waesche (Randy). Predeceased by sister Francis.
The memorial service will be held at Kingwood Bible Church on Friday, August 16, 2024 at 2:30 p.m.
