Dana Christine Hannibal

She had a keen interest in science and had her sights set on medical school to put her considerable talents to work in a noble cause. She was making great progress getting there. Last summer she served as an apprentice in the Harper Environmental & Molecular Toxicology lab at OSU, and last fall she scored well into the 99th percentile on the PSAT and would likely have been named a National Merit Scholarship semi-finalist when the list is announced later this year. She was also known for her poetry and artist side.

Dana was energetic, talkative and witty, but when she focused on school or sports she was intense. Her accomplishments in softball, soccer, volleyball, chess and golf were numerous. She was most proud of her first team All-Leaguer in Softball and second team All-Leaguer in Soccer.

To accompany such a strong spirit Dana was a warm and friendly girl, quick with a smile and wave, and had a cheerful and infectious good will that she willingly shared. The world lost a great mind in Dana and also a great heart.

Her light burned so bright it had to leave us to shine bright above us.

Dana is survived by her adoring parents, Carol and Eric; amazing big brother, Carson; cat and companion, Bella; her loving extended family; friends and loved ones everywhere.
