She was born in Collinston, Louisiana on March 9th to Mattie and Alex Akins.
On April 15, 1978, she married Lee Clark and their union remained for 42 years.
Delois worked as an Administrative Professional for the Oregon Department of Veterans Affairs (ODVA) for over 30 years. She made many long lasting friendships while at ODVA and was well respected and adored by many there.
She was a member of the Free Church of God for 40 years. Delois served as the Church Administrator as well on the Food Share and Wilderness Ministries. Delois had a passion for helping those in need in the community and served others selflessly.
Her other passions were most definitely her family and traveling to visit them, especially her grandchildren and spending time with them brought so much joy to her life. Her beautiful, bright smile and warm, loving spirit will be missed by all who knew her.
Delois was preceded in death by her mother and father, Mattie & Alex Akins; her brothers, Mozell Smith, Mizell Wright, and Luther Johnson; and her sister, Fannie Akins.
Delois is survived by her dear husband Lee, her beloved daughter Leah Hill (husband Michael Hill), and her precious grandchildren Mikai and Lailana Hill.
She is also survived by her niece, who is like a daughter, Linda Hamilton (husband Rick Hamilton) and her granddaughter Tiwanna Hamilton.
Delois leaves behind her brother George Akins and many nieces and nephews who loved her so dearly.
Viewing for Delois will be held from 3pm-7pm, July 6th at Howell, Edwards, Doerksen Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11am -12pm, July 7th at Belcrest Memorial Park.
