Don was born in Toledo, Oregon to parents Lester and Elsie Curry. He attended Toledo Grade School and Salem High School. He worked at the United States Post Office in Salem 24 ½ years. He loved to garden, watch Oregon football and go to grandchildren and great grandchildren sporting events. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Doris; sister Leta Anderson of Gresham, Ore; and step children Cathy (Tom) Blair and Helen (Gary) Cuff of Salem, Ore., Judy Wright or Sun Lakes, Arizona and Ed (Lisa) Wright of Salem, Ore; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A viewing was held for Don at Howell, Edwards, Doerksen Funeral Home the morning of September 30, 2016. A private service was held for him at a later time at Belcrest Memorial Park.
