Dorothy Jean Baird

Dorothy was born on April 13, 1935, in Portland, Oregon. She lived a life rooted in kindness, resilience, and deep love for her family. Known for her warm heart and gentle spirit, Dorothy had a special way of making everyone feel welcome and cared for.

She found joy in life’s simple pleasures—tending to her dahlias and gardening, getting lost in a good book, and working on puzzles. Above all, Dorothy cherished time spent with her family and especially loved “loving on” her grandchildren, who brought her endless happiness and pride.

She is survived by her children; Jeffrey Baird (Joy Baird), Michael Baird Jr. (Michelle Baird) and Cynthia Baird; her grand, great, and great great grandchildren: Martin Schell, Meghan Schell, Jackson Schell, Zachary Schell, James Schell-Buchanan and Mason Schell-Buchanan, Anna McGinnis (Tucker), Michael Christopher Baird, Whitney Di Giacomo (Sal), Rory Aldridge and Eli Aldridge, Tabitha Roberts (Jeremy), Sabrina Paul (Matthew), Chess Harbin and Liam Harbin and Nevaeh Roberts; and many extended family members and friends who will forever cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Michael Baird Sr, with whom she is now reunited in the mansion he prepared for her in heaven.

Dorothy’s legacy is one of love, compassion, and devotion to family. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.

We will miss her deeply, but we find comfort knowing she is at peace and reunited with the love of her life. Her kindness, strength, and unconditional love will continue to guide us every day.
