

Dorothy Russell August 21, 1950 - November 2, 2020 Dorothy was 70 years old when she went to meet Jesus. She loved God and family more than anything. Her faith in God gave her an overwhelming loving heart. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was an active member in the WCTU, Oregon State President and was the World treasurer for several years. She loved quilting and was an avid member of the church quilting club. She loved to sew, crochet and anything relating to crafts. She loved to give gifts, especially on Birthdays and Christmas. Dorothy loved making cards and never missed sending a birthday card to someone she loved. She loved to host parties, make cookies, pies, and candies. She loved going to the Home Depot Workshops with her Sister and Niece. She loved traveling the world, but especially enjoyed trips to the coast with her husband. Dorothy was very involved with her family and enjoyed hosting family get togethers whenever they were available. She loved her special lunches with her sisters and her best friend Mary. Dorothy loved 4th of July, Thanksgiving and Christmas family gatherings. She loved kids and babies and welcomed them into her life with open arms. Dorothy loved to sing and perform in church productions, but most of all she loved the Lord.
Her memory lives on through her family: Dorothy’s Husband Gary, Daughter Anarene and her 2 kids Grant and Logan, her Daughter Alicia and her two kids Jeremiah and Gabriela and her Son & Daughter in-law Jeremy and Carri Russell and their two kids Mikaela and Tyler. Her 6 brothers and sisters LaPreal, Linda, Waldo, David, Anarene and Hendria, their spouses and children.
A Graveside Service will be held at Hilltop Cemetery in Independence on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at 11:00am followed by a Memorial Service at Salem First Church of the Nazarene, 1550 Market St. NE, Salem, at 1:00pm
