Doug was born in Salem, Oregon to Everett and Lillian Brown in 1942. He received his degree in Criminal Justice in 1974. After twenty-nine years in law enforcement, Doug retired from the Washington County Sheriff's Office holding the rank of Lieutenant. Doug went on to have a successful career in real estate with Windermere.
For many years, Doug loved teaching and worshiping at the Church of Christ. Later in life, Doug volunteered for Mended Hearts and No One Dies Alone (NODA). Those close to him knew him for his witty sense of humor and devotion to family. His interests included WWII history, PNW travel, molasses cookies, and John Wayne movies.
Doug was married to Mary-Martha for fifty-eight years and is survived by his wife and four sons: Stephen, Richard, Daniel, and Troy and ten grandchildren. Doug was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Henry, and his brothers, Robert Brown and Michael Brown. He is survived by his sisters Virginia Rudishauser and Kathleen Beebe.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held in the coming weeks to honor our beloved husband, father, brother and friend.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.hed-fh.com for the Brown family.
