Douglas Lee Clark

Douglas Lee Clark, age 73, of Albany, Oregon passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2023. Douglas was born in Phoenix, Arizona on January 27, 1950 to Wilbur and Flora (Finley) Clark. Due to a car accident at the age of 16 [a drunk driver hit him], Douglas was left with a severe brain injury and was not able to complete his education or to ever have a career or a spouse. He was a devout Christian, who loved being at church. Church was his happy place here on Earth. In 2012, Douglas moved to Albany, Oregon. That's when Lauren Harte-Bates and Felisha Parrish of Catholic Community Services stepped up. Not only did they provide excellent care for Douglas to meet all his needs, but they truly loved Douglas. They could have easily just showed up to work and do their job then go home. But they went above and beyond with his care. As Doug's family we want to say, "THANK YOU, Lauren and Felisha!!!" The family would also like to thank Easter seals. Easter seals was a tremendous blessing for Doug for many years. Douglas is survived by two brothers and two sisters: Bill Clark and wife Anita of Caldwell, Idaho; Kathy Clements and husband Chris of Stigler, Oklahoma; Shirley Gunter and husband Richard of Springfield, Oregon; Stan Clark and wife Paula of Brownsville, Oregon; and by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his Father Wilbur Clark and Mother Flora Clark of Orangevale, California; brothers Richard Clark of Sacramento, California; John Clark of Ontario, Oregon; Gene Clark of South Lake Tahoe, California; Ronald Clark of Sacramento, California; and Kenneth Clark Of Orangevale, California. A visitation for Douglas will be held Tuesday, March 21, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Howell-Edwards-Doerksen with Rigdon-Ransom Funeral Directors, 1350 Commercial Street SE, Salem, Oregon 97302; followed by a funeral service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A graveside service will occur Tuesday, March 21, 2023 from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM at Belcrest Memorial Park, 1295 Browning Ave South, Salem, Oregon 97302.
