Edward G. Sturn, 84, died on January 31, 2015 after recent years of health issues. He was born to Harry Sturn & Philomena (Schaner) Sturn in Mandan, N.D. He served in the Armed Forces with an honorable discharge in 1953. He married Inez V Sturn on May 13, 1952; they were married 55 years before her death in 2007. They moved from North Dakota to Oregon in 1955 to raise their family. Ed was a gifted mechanic working many years for Webb & Andersen in Salem and retiring from Dwight's Auto Service in McMinnville in 1994. Ed enjoyed his acreage in South Salem raising a small herd of cattle. He spent many hours "tinkering" on projects and was especially proud of the restoration of his Model C Farmall Tractor. He took special interest in birds especially his humming birds. He enjoyed music, a good game of dice and the challenge of a puzzle. In recent years he came to appreciate time spent with his family. Looking forward to visits from his children, grandchildren and welcoming new additions of great-grandchildren into the legacy of family. Ed is survived by his children; Dwight (Robin), Rick (Janet), Brian (Mary), Brenda and Barry (Susan) Sturn; their families including 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; Brother Richard (Lillian) Sturn, Sister Monica Horning.
