Elaine M Hanggi

Elaine was the second child of five children, with an older sister and a younger brother and two younger sisters. Elaine wed Maxmillian Clymer Hanggi in Munich, ND on June 24, 1942. Max & Elaine raised five children together.

Elaine enjoyed sewing, crocheting, quilting, reading and dancing. She also enjoyed travelling and her years saw many trips, including ones to Alaska, Hawaii, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, the Caribbean, and extensively throughout the United States with family and friends.

Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Max; by her parents, Arthur and Gertrude Wruck; her brother, Donald Wruck; sisters, Genevieve Meredith and Doreen Tabert; and son-in-law, Donald Hoel.

Elaine is survived by her son Rodney Hanggi (Pat) of Horace, ND; daughters Marie Hoel of Salem, OR, Coleen Bourgeois of Beaverton, OR, Melanie Heald of Newberg, OR and Corrin Belle (Lynn) of Egeland, ND; her grandsons Jarrod Hoel of Aloha, OR and Arin Belle of Egeland, ND and great grandson Landon Belle of Egeland, ND. She is also survived by her sister Nola Glock of Fargo, ND.

Services will be at the Howell Edwards Doerksen Funeral Home, 1350 Commercial Street SE, Salem, OR 97302. Rosary will start at 10:30 AM, Celebration of Life at 11:30 AM, reception to follow at 12:30 PM, with Grave Side Services at St. Barbara’s Cemetery at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials received will be forwarded in Elaine Hanggi’s name to her favorite charity.
