Remembering Don Penrose 

I met Don 37 years ago. He was working on a sailboat in his driveway. 

I have many good, fun and funny memories spending time with Don. 
Golfing, State Fairs, holidays together, concerts, Beach Blanket Babylon shows to name a few.  

His smile, when we hugged greeting one another, was so warm and welcoming. 
His caring. 
His making me feel part of his family will never be forgotten. 
 
One of the many good moments was when Don and Carol were in DC while I was there visiting my family. It was a surprise to all of us that we were there at the same time. I got to take them to the many national monuments, museums and Mount Vernon George Washington’s estate.

One of the many funny stories I had with Don had to do with bringing a dessert for one of many Thanksgiving’s dinners at my place in San Francisco.

 arrived with one of their ginormous Costco Pumpkin Pie. There was no way I would be able to eat what would be left over before it would spoil. His response was, “I’ll finish it at the hotel room. “
He loved food. 

I will never forget his smile and  love.
