Eugene B MacDonald

Eugene B. MacDonald passed away on July 23rd, 2022 at the age of 88 years old. He was born in Billings, Montana in 1934 to William W MacDonald and Anna M (Peterson) MacDonald. Mac moved to Salem with his parents and 4 siblings when he was 2 years old, he never left.

He attended and graduated from North Salem High School. Mac's career was in sales. He was so good with people. He was funny and loved to tell you jokes . He worked for Sears, Montgomery Wards, J/K Carpets. He loved to travel with his wife Joan .When he could he enjoyed singing with the local Barbershop Quartet.

Mac is survived by his wife, Joan, they were married for 42 years. His daughters, Annette O’Malley and Sherrie Harrison; 3 Step children, Sue Miller, son-in-law Michael Miller, Scott Staggs; daughter in-law Paula Staggs, Jay Staggs. 5 grandchildren Sydney and Aaron Miller, Ryan Staggs, Tracy Mize and Travis Mize. 1 Great granddaughter Zebedee Mize.

Mac Preceded in death his son, Ricky MacDonald, Step Son Jay Staggs , grandson Travis Mize, siblings Betty Meyers, Donald MacDonald, Pat Woods, Berna Nanneman .

He served in the National Guard and was a kind and lovely man, who was loved by many. He will be missed and forever loved!

The family thanks the staff at Brookstone, and Serenity Hospice Care for helping make his final years happy ones.

The graveside service will be taking place on August 8th at 1:00 pm at Belcrest Memorial Park.
