Fred Jay Aguirre

Fred was born in San Francisco, California, to the late Gus and Lavina Aguirre. He was the oldest of three children, sister Sandy, brother Kelly and grew up in Medford, Oregon, where he graduated from Medford High School.

During the Vietnam War, Fred proudly served his country in the United States Army as an Army Ranger. He was awarded the Purple Heart for injuries he sustained during his service. His military service was an important part of his life, and in later years he found comfort and fellowship through his PTSD support group.

Following his military service, Fred worked for many years in the logging industry as a diesel parts man before retiring.

Fred married Kathryn in 1985. He cherished his family and the many friendships he made throughout his life. He especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends, meeting with his PTSD support group, and participating in his church home group.

Fred was a man who enjoyed doing things with his hands. One of his greatest accomplishments was building his own log home. He loved hunting and fishing and took great pleasure in making his own fishing lures. He also had a well-earned

reputation for being able to fix almost anything with his two favorite tools:

superglue and duct tape.

A lifelong sports fan, Fred enjoyed watching all kinds of sports and sharing those

moments with the people around him. He was also well known for stopping at any

yard sale and haggling for his treasures.

Fred leaves behind his children, Julie, Matt, Andy, Ryan, Shannon, and Cheryl; 13

grandchildren; 3 nephews, and a host of cousins, and friends who will cherish his

memory.

Fred will be remembered for his service to his country, his love of family and

friends, his sense of humor, his willingness to lend a hand, and his remarkable

ability to make, build, repair, and figure things out. His life touched many people,

and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
