Mom passed away in the early morning hours of September 30th, 2022 in Salem Oregon, with her daughter Ruth at her side. She was 93. Helen was born in Rochester, NY to Aloysius Wiesner and Anna Reber. Helen married Robert T. Jarmusz in 1954 in San Francisco. Son Paul was born in 1956 in San Francisco and Ruth followed in 1958 in Chico, CA. Before getting married Helen worked for the Pentagon and French’s Mustard in clerical positions. Helen was a very crafty person who enjoyed macramé, sewing (made clothes for daughter Ruth), needlepoint, cross stitch, reading, music and travel. She made one trip to Europe and it was a highlight of her life. Helen and daughter Ruth would meet in a different city for the Christmas holidays for many years!! She also really loved the sound of rain! Helen was a housewife until she decided to go to college and get a Legal Secretary certificate at the same time her daughter was attending Jr. College! After her career as a legal secretary she volunteered for 1000 Friends in Portland and the Multnomah Public Library. She is survived by her son Paul (spouse Mika) and Ruth of Salem. She had no grandchildren only a Granddog Cody and a Grandcat Olive. Ruth moved to Salem from California to care for Helen the last four years of her life. A sister Lois Wiesner survives her in Virginia. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Margaret Guerin and Rita Coughlin. Thanks to excellent care from the staff at Windsong at Eola Hills for her care these last two years. No services are planned.
