Helen was born to Mr. and Mrs. William 'Bill' Mickenham of Turner, Oregon. Helen attended Cloverdale School and graduated from Cascade High School. Helen and Donald Earl Parker married in 1957 and shared the love of raising their three sons, Donald Jr. of Boiling Springs, N.C., Ronald and Dale, both of Salem.
Helen worked at Kopper Kitchen as well the Oregon Department of Veteran Affairs. They owned and operated a successful Adult Foster Care Home. Helen continued to remain involved in the care home and found joy in being able to help people in need.
After a long battle with cancer, Helen went home to Heaven on August 13, 2011. She loved the Lord and is with Him now through Jesus Christ. Mom we will all see you in heaven and until then we miss you.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, three brothers and one sister. She is survived by three sons, four grandsons, one sister and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held Thursday, August 18, 12 to 8 pm, and a Celebration of Life will be held Friday, August 19, 10:30 am, both at Howell-Edwards-Doerksen Funeral Home, located at 1350 Commercial St. SE, Salem, Oregon, followed by burial at City View Cemetery.
