Iris Evelyn Berkey

Iris married her childhood friend Mervin Berkey on May 14, 1950 at Sheridan Mennonite Church. They owned various gas stations in Salem and Iris also worked many years in food services.

Iris had a gift for hospitality, and enjoyed flowers, gardening, camping, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her children Carmen (Leonard) Kropf, Siletz; Mike (Cheryl) Berkey, Lebanon; grandchildren Adam Kropf, Alicia Kropf, Jesse Berkey and Breanne Wiebe; 10 great-grandchildren and a great-great granddaughter. She is also survived by her sister Sara Chupp.

She was preceded in death by her husband Mervin; siblings Berle McTimmonds, Twila Emmert, Elsie Emmert, Audrey Miller, Hazel Daniels and granddaughter Jennifer Berkey.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, Oct. 3 at 3 pm at Albany Mennonite Church.
