Jacaline was born to Kathryn Bielstein Kleinert and George Kleinert in Rock Island, Illinois. Being an only child, she spent most of her growing-up years enjoying the company of her close cousin, Betty Ruth.
Jacaline graduated from high school from Hermiston, Oregon, and later attended Multnomah School of the Bible. She came to faith in the Lord in 1955 through the testimony of Helen Maronda. She was eager to share that faith as she had opportunity. She also had a career with the Dept of Agriculture, Franklin County for 30 years.
In 1979 Jacaline married Bud Sowers in Kennewick, Washington. As a minister, Bud pastored churches in the Washington Tri City area for about 16 years with Jacaline by his side. After retiring, Bud and Jacaline moved to Salem, Oregon where they made Salem First Church of the Nazarene their home. They continued to faithfully share their faith in God as their Lord and Savior as often as they could.
Jacaline is preceded in death by her parents and beloved husband Bud. She leaves behind many friends, her cousin Betty Ruth Rife and family, as well as Bud’s sister Karma DeWitt and family. She will be buried alongside Bud in the the Warsow, Illinois Lutheran Cemetery.
A Memorial Service will be held at Salem First Church of the Nazarene on Monday, April 17th, 2023 at 3:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Simonka House, Salem. Arrangements are being handled by Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service.
