I became Janet's second mom and thoroughly enjoyed our times together.   Her passing will leave a huge hole in everyone's lives who knew her and loved her and expected her to be with us "forever".

<My deepest sympathy to the "boys" . Janet was my only girl cousin to join me in roaming the ranch and playing games at her Aunt Mildred and Uncle Arnold Hoeft's Ranch.   Every summer I would drive everyone crazy with the question, "When is Janet going to be here?"  We had so much fun together as girls. Playing Pick-up-Sticks, Password, and best of all Paper Dolls! When we were at Salem Academy, Janet, Bev, and I had alot of fun. I lived close to Janet and so I was the driver and picked her up first. We were taking Bev home and was in the parking lot of a grocery store driving through, and an old man pulled out in front of me and I hit him. I told them I was glad I had two witnesses and at that time I found out, both had their eyes closed. I will never for get it.

It is hard to come to grips with my life long friend being gone from my life. She has been the sister I never had and will treasure the memories we made together. I love and miss you Janet.........

To George, John, and Gary, I am so sorry to hear of the loss of my cousin Janet. She has passed well before her time. Please accept our condolences for the loss of your sister and may God bless you and your families.

We are all deeply saddened by the loss of Janet. We are also very thankful for the wonderful memories that she leaves behind with us. She will always be in our thoughts prayers and hearts....

Janet and her parents and brothers and cousins were like my adopted family. Always so accepting and inviting. She was a beautiful, loving, funny, person and she will be missed greatly. I take so much peace, knowing that she is finally reunited with her parents, Steve and Mary, whom she loved dearly, and I'm sure has missed just as much...I'll miss ya Janet!

Included is a favorite photograph of Janet. It may be the only photograph I have where she isn't skillfully dodging the shot.  I love "the look."  I will miss her very much.

I have trouble expressing how much I am feeling the loss of my cousin.  Words just can't seem to capture it.  Writing this little poem in her memory seemed to help me.   It is titled "Janneykins"

A blue-eyed girl with three brothers, she was not like many others.
One brother called her Janneykins anytime a quarrel began.
Her favorite thing was reading books, at the ocean or in her nook.
Her demeanor so quiet and reserved, disguised a fury that could be unfurled.
Yet her kindness went unmatched, in the days most recently past.
Always ready to entertain guests, just for knowing her we were blessed!

No words can express how much I will miss my cousin. She was our big sister much more than a cousin. I am still struggling to deal with losing her so suddenly. It Janet, all her brothers, Aunt Mary and Uncle Steve who were responsible for making great memories for me to draw on throughout my life. Spending time with the Fletchers was always the happiest times in my life. I will never forget everything she has done for me, my son, and my grandchildren over the years. I love you Janet and will miss you very much.
