In April 2020, Jayson was diagnosed with End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD). After almost 4 years on dialysis and an Ancestry DNA miracle, I was able to locate my birth father. Jayson relocated from Bakersfield, Ca to Oregon with me so that I could be closer to my dad. He continued dialysis for another two years until May 19, 2026, when he made the difficult decision to enter into hospice care.
Jayson's biggest regrets in life was that he never graduated high school, however, he was able to do some college without a high school diploma. He also regretted that he didn't get to travel more, but we got the chance to live in Las Vegas four times. He always wanted to see a Yankees game at Yankees Stadium, but never got the chance to. Although we did travel to New York and got pictures outside of Yankees Stadium in Sept 2020 during Covid.
He absolutely loved the sound of the ocean waves at Ventura Beach and went any chance he could get. Since the move, we had been going to Newport Beach as often as we could. They were so many places here in Oregon we never got a chance to get to go and see.
Life wasn't always easy for Jayson growing up, but he fought hard to make the best out of everything in life. He was stubborn, strong-willed, and very opinionated, but that's what made him different from everyone else.
One of the things I admired most about him was that I could see the good in him even when others couldn’t. Jayson could be the biggest goofball at times, but absolutely didn't care what others thought about him. From the moment we met, there was an instant connection between us two.
As his wife, I spent 26 years with Jayson, and we have four children together: Christopher, will be 23; Alissa, 21; Katelyn, 20; and Nick, will be 26. We also have our adopted daughter, Emilee, who will be 27 this year.
Jayson was the love of my life, and without him I am at a loss for words. Whether he realized it or not he actually did make a lasting impression on others lives. He will be deeply missed by many others.
Our favorite saying was: "I love you more"
