Jean Oliver had 102 years of vibrant, humor-filled life. God gave her the very rare and special gift of being content wherever she was. Three daughters, five grandchildren, and nine great grandkids all enjoyed her love, creativity, and good nature. We had family jokes about the stuff she put in “safe places” where they weren’t found for ages, about her calling Daniel Boone “Davy Crockett” because Fess Parker played both roles, about her feistiness when required. She loved laughing. She rejoiced in the little ones. And she made a vast variety of cookies for all sorts of occasions. Her heart was always open. She took care of Dad after his stroke, her sister Vivian as she died of cancer, and at one point prepared to care for a friend who was dying. She showed the fruit of the Spirit even before she became a follower of Christ.
Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
