

Joanne Kay Rollman (Bowman) lost her courageous battle against pancreatic cancer on September 17, 2014, while at her home in Salem, OR, surrounded by her loving family. We lost a very loving, strong willed, caring mother, sister, and grandma. Joanne was called home by the lord and freed of her suffering.
Joanne worked at Fairview training center for several years at the infirmary. When Fairview closed she went to work for the state community program and worked for Adell group home, taking care of very fragile individuals. She retired in 2002 and started to care for her great granddaughters Kyah, Payten, and Kyndal for 12 years. Caring for her granddaughters was her pride and joy.
Joanne enjoyed bowling for many years, playing in a league with her nephew and niece. She enjoyed going to Bingo nights on Wednesdays, with her best friend Shirley. She also enjoyed playing bunko with her sister Nina, brother Alvin, and many other friends. She loved to spend time playing dice with her family and friends. Joanne loved to celebrate birthday lunches and trips to the casino with her family.
Joanne is preceded in death by her parents Walter and Margaret Bowman, brother John Bowman, sister Evelyn Bowman, and brother Jim Bowman.
Joanne is survived by her daughter Marie Torstveit, son Joseph Carr, daughter Linda Havlinek, son James Boggs, son Gregory Boggs, son Edward Boggs, sister Nina Case, sister Freda Meyers, sister Lynn Bowman, brother Alvin Bowman, Brother Bill bowman, 11 grandchildren, 18 great Grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild on the way.
In Lieu of flowers the family asks that you make donations towards the cost of the services.
A funeral service for Joanne will be held on Thursday, September 25th at 1pm, at Howell-Edwards-Doerksen funeral home.
